Start here. This package has the collection service, the dacpac to deploy the repository database, the config tool and the GUI. Extract it and follow the quick start.
One zip for the machine that will collect data.
DBADash_version.zip
Add the monitoring client on another machine. Install the version that matches your repository. The installer keeps the GUI on the version of the repository it connects to. See deploying the GUI.
Installs for the current user. No administrator rights, and it adds the GUI to the Start menu. When it connects to a repository on another version it offers to install that version.
DBADash_GUI_Setup_version.exe
Asks whether to install for you or for everyone, under Program Files. An update of an install for everyone needs administrator permission. The SSMS extension finds an all-users install.
DBADash_GUI_Setup_version.msi
Extract it and run DBADash.exe. No installer. A copy from the zip is upgraded by the upgrade script, as before.
DBADash_GUI_Only_version.zip
View execution plans and deadlock graphs only. No repository, service, or SQL Server connection. See the Visualizer documentation.
Installs in a few seconds for the current user. No administrator rights and no prompts. It adds Visualizer to the Start menu and Installed apps, installs the .NET Desktop Runtime if needed, and updates itself.
DBADash_Visualizer_Setup_version.exe
Asks whether to install for you or for everyone, under Program Files. An update of an install for everyone needs administrator permission.
DBADash_Visualizer_Setup_version.msi
Extract it to a folder of your choice and run DBADashVisualizer.exe.
DBADash_Visualizer_version.zip
The setup programs install the .NET 10 Desktop Runtime if it is missing. The zip packages need that runtime installed already. Other files on the GitHub release, such as .nupkg packages, are used by the installers to update themselves.
The buttons above download the latest release. Earlier versions, including the file list for each one, are on GitHub.
